In Part two of this workshop series, we will investigate repeated movement testing and neural testing in the frontal plane.

Lower Back and Associated Nerve Pain- Part 2:

In Part two of this workshop series we will start with revision of part one to review and refresh then progress to further investigation in the form of repeated movement testing in the frontal plane, & neural testing focusing on the SLR & Slump test in detail. Differential diagnosis will focus on other regions proximal and distal to the lumbar spine as a potential source of pain, referred pain & altered sensation.

Objectives of this workshop:

-To accurately assess the lower spine using a combination of repeated movements.

-Neural testing for spinal nerve root involvement.

-Neural testing for peripheral nerve involvement.

-To prescribe the appropriate corrective exercises for the lower spine.

-To prescribe the appropriate corrective exercises for the thoracic spine.

-To prescribe the appropriate corrective stretching for peripheral neural involvement.

-The application of specific soft tissue treatment for peripheral neural involvement.

Presenter - Rob Orr:

Rob Orr is a clinical myotherapist and a Credentialed McKenzie Therapist (one of only 170 in Australia). He specialises in acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain of the spine and the extremities, sciatica, musculoskeletal injuries related to sport and altered bio-mechanics, corrective exercises, functional stretching, and client education/self-management.

With over 15 years of experience in myotherapy and lecturing, Rob is currently working in a private practice and lecturing at Victoria University Polytechnic.

Rob is passionate about continuously updating his knowledge in the most current evidence-based research and strives to never stop learning. He is an enthusiastic participant of all forms of exercise including rugby, weight training, martial arts, Olympic lifting, swimming boxing and yoga.

General Information:

Essential Items to bring: lunch (as not provided on the day), massage table and towels.

Please note, the presenter has advised that attendees wear comfortable clothing, as there will be rehab exercises as a component of this seminar.

To ensure the success of this seminar, it is a requirement that you bring above items to the event. If you do not have a massage table, please arrange table hire via https://www.firm-n-fold.com.au/shop-online/hire-equipment or company of your choice.
