You need to have… Successfully completed Network Connectivity Fundamentals - Fibre Optic Standards and Conformance testing course .  Objectives and Content The objective of this course is to provide the participants an update on their understanding of the requirements for testing an optical fibre installation in line with Standards and industry best practices Changes in testing standards and AS/NZS 11801.x (AS/NZS3080) and AS/NZS 14763.3 – What has Changed Conformance assessment requirements – What is needed and what to use - Basic - Transmission (LSPM) - Extended Test Group (OTDR) Cable and connector types, construction type and selection criteria – what is needed to make it work Light Source and Power Meter testing – how it is tested - Maintenance of the reference - Reporting obligations outside of the test data OTDR testing – how is it done and what do the results mean - OTDR setup and test configuration - Extended test group - Tester setup requirements New Fibre Classifications – what is new - OS1a - OM5 - Transmission light paths and effect on core counts Quality Plans - Quality plans requirements for establishing conformance – What needs to be done Course Outcome/Qualification After the successful completion of this training course, you will continue to be recognised as having the required skills to carry out testing and resolve issues to establish installation conformance for optical fibre installations. A Statement of Completion will be award to successful candidates. The successful completion of this course is a prerequisite to maintaining ECO Expert Qualification.
