In 1970, Fred Lebow, then the president of NYRR, co-founded the New York City Marathon and became its race director. He had a 22-year span as president. He ran the 1992 New York City Marathon with nine-time New York City Marathon champion Grete Waltz while he was in remission from brain cancer. Although Lebow died in 1994 at age 62, we honor his legacy today with the NYRR Youth Running Series at the Fred Lebow Cross Country race. Perfect for 7- to 18-year-olds, these races are for kids of all fitness levels.
These races are timed and scored, and every child will receive a souvenir T-shirt at bib pickup on race day.

Hi, anyone here interested in giving up their volunteer opportunity? Or interested in switching places with me for the midnight run? Please? Really important to me.
