We are an awesome hostel and surf school located outside of Lisbon in sunny Costa da Caparica. We offer plenty of activities and events We are Allie and Ricardo, welcome to our beach house! This hostel is the realization of lifelong dreams and long-term experience hosting couchsurfers, teaching surf lessons, giving tours, and offering great times to fellow travellers in the Lisbon area. You can enjoy a Portuguese paradise at our big, beautiful beach house, located only a 3 minute walk from the best surf beach this close to Lisbon. Take one of our awesome surf classes, or rent a board and suit and head over to our semi-private beach. There are no crowds, only great waves. While you’re with us at home, you can lay on the grass, swim in the big swimming pool, enjoy the bar outside with new friends, use the outdoor bbq or fire a pizza in the wood-burning oven. Our shared spaces include a large, cozy lounge area with handmade furniture, games, instruments, and a warm, roaring fireplace. There is an outside bar area with grill and wood-burning oven, a big lawn and swimming pool, hammock, and warm outdoor shower. Our kitchen is modern and fully equipped to put together excellent meals, with a great breakfast included, and coffee and tea available all day. Our 2 large dorms, small female dorm, and two private rooms feature custom graffiti art by Ricardo and friends, cozy bunk-beds, personal lights, and plenty of outlets. We offer amazing and affordable surf classes, dinners and barbeques, day tours and camping tours, shuttles to and from Lisbon and the airport, and laundry services, as well as FREE bicycle use, lockers for your stuff, slots during the week where guests can sign up to teach and take classes, movie nights, and other fun activities. We know a ton about Lisbon and the surrounding areas so don’t hesitate to ask for our help in planning your adventures. Costa da Caparica is a funky beach town just outside of Lisbon with long stretches of beach and great waves year round. What makes our location extra special is that our beach is semi-private, which means that it doesn’t get overwhelmed during the high season like other beaches in the area. We are located a 3-minute walk from the beach, you can just grab your board or your beach towel and head right over. Transportation to and from the hostel is a cinch. You can organize shuttles and tours with us, or you can walk or take one of our free bikes to the bus-stop, train, or the 10-min ferry into Lisbon. Downtown Costa is just a short bike-ride or a leisurely walk away. We are also close to amazing natural areas like Arrabida that are great for hiking or tours. A little about us: Ricardo is a Portuguese surf teacher, painter, graffiti and tattoo artist who loves to cook, speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish, and German, has over 140 positive reviews from his days as a Couchsurfing host, and has always dreamed of opening a surf hostel like this one. Allie is a newly transplanted singer and performing artist from the US who speaks English, Portuguese, some Spanish, is learning to surf, also loves to cook, and travels all over the world to perform.
