Email : cyrilrovery@yahoo.fr Cyril begins his vocal studies at the Marseille Conservatoire; his professor is Mr Tibère Raffalli. In 2000 he completes is studies there and gets a 1st class I.I at his final solo recital. (Gold medal with honors). At the same time he takes part in master classes under the guidance of Leo Nucci, Alain Fondary, Gabriel Bacquier, Robert Massard et Renato Bruson. He wins 1st Prize at the International Competition « Symphonies d’Automne - Mâcon » in 1999, and wins the Siena International competition for singers in 2002 as well. Whilst still a student, he sings « Schaunard » (La bohème), « Escamillo » (Carmen) at the Kanazawa Opera house in Japan ; « Masetto » (Don Giovanni); “Valentin” (Faust); . In 2000 he takes part in the Première of « Alfred Alfred » by Francesco Donatoni at the « Théâtre des Amandiers » in Paris and then on tour in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Other appearances in comtenporary works include “Forever Valley” by Gérard Pesson. In 2001 he makes his début at the Avignon Opera House with Patricia Cioffi in « Traviata » ; then, « Pelleas and Melisande » at the Massy Opera house, and « Madame Butterfly » at the Marseilles Opera House in 2003. He goes on with the role of the « Bonze » (Madame butterfly) to Lille, Nantes, Angers, and Nancy. In 2005 Cyril is acclaimed by the critics, in « Salomée » by Mariotte at the Montpellier Opera House (recorded by Universal Music). He appears in Oratorio performances such as the Fauré Requiem , Bach Cantatas, and Masses by Mozart and Haydn, as well as recitals of French Melodies, with the Integral of the Duparc songs. In 2005, he replaces Jean-Philippe Lafont in the role of Scarpia (Tosca) at the Marseille Opera House, where the year after he sings “Monterone” (Rigoletto). In 2007 he appears in Ariane by Jules Massenet, at the St Etienne Opera House. The same year, he will be heard twice in Strasbourg at the “Opera National du Rhin” in “L’Africaine”, and “Boris Godounov”. Since then he appears regularly in the major Opera Houses, in France and abroad, under conductors such as Michel Plasson fot “les troyens de Berlioz”. At the same time he regularly gives Song / Lieder recitals, such as the Liszt Petrarca sonnets, or the Integral of the “Winterreise” by Schubert. Most recently Cyril was “Don Giovanni” during the summer Festival of “Opera Theatre pour Tous” last year at the Longchamp Palace in Marseille, he appeared as well with Patricia Cioffi in Roméo et Juliette at the Marseille Opera House. In July 2012 he was “Scarpia” (Tosca) at the Abbaye de Brou Festival in Burgundy – France, and “Sharpless” Madame Butterfly at the Théâtre Sylvain summer Festival in Marseille.
