Ms. Christine O'Kelly

Christine O'Kelly is the Age Friendly Coordinaator in Dublin City University, the world's first designated Age Friendly University.  DCU is leading a global initiative to create a network of Age Friendly Universities.Current AFU membership comprise: Arizona State University, University of Strathclyde, Lassell College, MA, University of Manitoba, Leeds Beckett University, National College of Ireland and NUI Galway. Christine coordinates a multidisciplinery team on ageing in DCU which operates under 6 Pillars: Research and Innovation, Teaching and Learning, Life long Learning, Intergenerational Learning, Civic Engagement, Encore Career and Enterprise which are each led by experts in these areas.  Christine also works closely with community and organisations in the non profit sector on issues relating to ageing.   DCU is a member of the International Federation of Ageing, the EU Innovnet Partnership and is a founder member of the Covenant on Demographic Change.  DCU's Age Friendly Principles have been endorsed by the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education.
