Members of the Shukokai Karate Federation, who are affiliated with Kimura Shukokai International (KSI) & English Karate Federation (Governing body for Karate in England). The SKF has had a club in the Shaw, Oldham area since 1980, run by Sensei Keith Cockburn 6th Dan and has always been a proud member of the Shukokai Karate Federation, headed up by Shihan E Daniels 8th Dan (KSI Joint World Chief Instructor & SKF Chief Instructor). Since then the club has produced many World, European & National individual and team champions in both Kata (forms) & Kumite (fighting). The art of Kimura Shukokai is the style practised at Shaw SKF follows the teachings of the late Master Kimura 10th Dan, whom Shihan Daniels and Sensei Keith was a direct student. Sensei Keith continues to train with Shihan Daniels on a regular basis. The club has many senior grades who regularly teach classes throughout the week. Located in the central Oldham, the club is a family friendly run club, with a great atmosphere and enthusiastic instructors always willing to get the best out of all the students who train. Karate is for everyone, so whether it is competitive Karate that you are looking for, then we are actively attending regular championships catering for all grades, male & female, children & adults events. Or you may just want to train to keep fit and learn the in depth technical side of Kimura Karate. Kimura Shukokai is for everyone!!! Although we partake in the Sport side of Karate, our main aim is for training and learning the true art of the martial art.
