Peak Adventure Introduction to Paddling Course
Want to learn the art and skill of kayaking? Looking to tackle an adventure race, or take on an ocean, downriver or flat water paddling event? Or do you just want to get fit, tone up your core and discover a new sport in the great outdoors?
Then Peak Adventure's Introduction to Paddling course is the best place to get started!
This course is ideal for total newbies, to people who's skills may have lapsed and want to revisit the fundamentals in a friendly, safe group environment. All fitness levels welcome.
Over two hours you will be introduced to:
Equipment selection and set up, using the latest sit-on-top ocean racing skis.
Water safety - how to read the conditions and stay safe while out on the water.
The fundamentals of the kayak stroke.
How to quickly and efficiently get back on your kayak if you fall out in deep water.
Strength, speed and endurance training principles.
Once you've successfully completed this course, you will be eligible to join our five weekday group training squad sessions where you will be able to consistently build on your skills, fitness and knowledge - the best way to improve is by doing!
