POSTPONED Modus Operandi 2020 Montreal Workshop/Audition

David Raymond and Tiffany Tregarthen, artistic directors of Vancouver-based company Out Innerspace Dance Theatre and Modus Operandi, and dancers with Kidd Pivot, will be in Montreal for a free contemporary dance, improv and repertoire workshop on April 11, 2020 / 10am-1pm.

For serious dancers ages 17 and up.

MO MONTREAL WORKSHOP & AUDITION UPDATE:

With an emphasis prioritizing health and safety during Covid-19, we have chosen to postpone the MO Spring Workshops, Intensive & Auditions until a later date.

We are currently working to identify suitable dates and are anticipating late May or early June. We will announce those dates on our website, newsletter and social media.

For all of you who have preregistered, we have emailed you directly and will continue to update each of you with our new schedule.

Until then, we wish all of you and your loved ones good health. We are celebrating all the ways we continue to dance together and the opportunities ahead to be back in studio, in touch and gathering together around dance.

David Raymond & Tiffany Tregarthen founded Out Innerspace Dance Theatre in 2007 as the home for their creations and Modus Operandi program. They are active educators, choreographers and performers, touring nationally with their own work and dancing with Kidd Pivot.

Modus Operandi is a Vancouver based program that provides pivotal post-secondary Contemporary Dance education within a 4-year curriculum.

The MO student body is a determined group of rebellious thinkers and movers dedicated to pursuing diverse professional careers in contemporary dance.

Led by David Raymond, Tiffany Tregarthen + Kate Franklin, MO faculty and guests are an inspirational force of active directors, creators and performers who nurture individual perspectives and demonstrate an international professional standard through relevant dance practices.

The curriculum offers extensive mentorship, career navigation, performance experience, professional practicum, choreographic exploration, dance on screen as well as diverse classes in contemporary, classical, hip hop, improvisation and dance making techniques.

The audition is comprised of a class with the Artistic Directors including contemporary and improvisation. From both an audition and the written application, dancers are chosen based on suitability for an advanced contemporary dance program including their approach to learning and their commitment to a full training season.

We strongly encourage dancers interested in auditioning to attend one or both of the intensives as an introduction to the program environment, methods and expectations while building a relationship with the directors prior to the audition. Modus Operandi celebrates diverse dance backgrounds and experience.
