Enjoying the tree change until the weeds get out of control? Fear not!

Join us for an 8 week course on rural land management, presented by specialist rural consultants and natural resources management staff.

This course is run on consecutive Wednesday evenings, beginning on the 5th of February and concluding on the 25th of March. A weekend farm walk is also included.

COURSE OUTLINE

Wednesday 5th February

Topic: Introduction to Land Management, Property Planning, Land Capability and Stocking Rates

Wednesday 12th February

Topic: Soils - Theory and Practical

Presenter: Amanda Schapel, Senior Consultant, PIRSA Rural Solutions

Wednesday 19th February

Topic: Watercourses and Dam Management

Presenter: Caroline Dorr, Water Projects Officer, Natural Resources Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges

Wednesday 26th February

Topic: Pasture Management

Presenter: Andy Cole, Land Management Consultant

Wednesday 4th March

Topic: Biodiversity in the Mount Lofty Ranges

Presenter: Elisa Sparrow, District Ecologist, Natural Resources Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges

Wednesday 11th March

Topic: Bushfire preparation

Presenter: Sarah Harris, Community Engagement Officer, SA Country Fire Service

Wednesday 18th March

Topic: Pests and Weeds

Presenter: Will Hannaford, District Officer, Natural Resources Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges, and Josh Rosser, State Rabbit Control Coordinator, PIRSA

Wednesday 25th March

Topic: Course summary and property planning
