QIGONG
Ba Duan Jin 8 pieces of Brocades with Pamela Hiley
February, 16th -17th - 10.00 - 17.00 both days
The 8 movements of Baduanjin have evolved to be the most popular form of traditonal qigong around the world and with a history of more that 2500 years. Its described as 8 pieces of brocade which describe the intricate patterns of qi nurturing the inner patterns of the bodies energies akin to the complex weave of the silken brocades which China is famous for. The body has chance to go deeply into its innate sense of belonging and opens for a profound level of transformation.
You will learn the complete system of Baduanjin during the course of this weekend.
Qigong is the work of the mind restoring the body to its innate natural form with physical prowess and control of the breath.
"The primordial qi existing around the dantien will last forever if properly preserved. For this purpose it is necessary to absorb heavenly qi with the nose and earthly qi with the mouth. Such absorption should be very slow and even." Lao Tzu
In qigong practice we are concerned with developing what is known in chinese medicine as the three treasures.
Jing - essence of life
Qi - vital energy
Shen - spirit
Qigong (Daoyin) is the practice of deep breathing techniques to restore and invigorate ones vital energy or qi and to nurture spiritual cultivation.
We learn about the theory of qigong (daoyin) through understanding the cosmology of yin and yang. With the understanding that nature and man are an organic whole the chinese defined the universe as yin and yang which are regarded as the two opposing forces within things.
