The Real Film Festival starts Summer 2019 with a bang, transforming spaces in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Port Stephens with bold films and cutting edge documentary’s about real issues.
More than any other film festival in the region, the Real Film Festival defines the Hunter’s personality. For over seven years, they have presented films by independent international, national and local storytellers whose presence at the Festival creates a buzz and honesty; a world class event right on your doorstep!
Screen industry professionals who have shared their stories and expertise have included; Don McAlpine, Jillian Armstrong, Jeff Julian, Tony Buckley, David Caesar, Jason Van Genderen, Vanessa Alexander, Ian Hamilton, Scott Roberts, Paige Badenoch, Rachel Blake, Zac Garred, Anthony Marsh and William Ward to name a few.
The Real Film Festival’s contemporary programming positions it as one of Australia’s leading documentary film festivals and a real place for emerging independent filmmakers from which to launch their careers.
