This one-day training program will provide participants with an overview of the theoretical frameworks which shape our understanding of parent – infant relationships, including attachment theory and psychodynamic approaches. The training will also focus upon how these frameworks can be applied to assessment and guide intervention where there is relational trauma. It will also provide participants with practical skills in parent-infant interventions and there will be opportunities for applied learning.The training is suited to those working with perinatal women and their infants including psychologists, maternal and child health nurses, GPs and psychiatrists. A basic knowledge of attachment theory is assumed.This program will be of interest to those who completed the MERTIL Training in 2018 and are seeking to refresh and extend their knowledge.
