SFQ Solutions Ltd. is offering a two days intensive Safety Training in English for Domestic Helpers. Our aim is to provide your helper with valuable safety knowledge and practical skillset, so they can look after your family and households in a safe and professional manner.
The course syllabus consists of a variety of safety topics, and has been designed with a generic household in mind, covering topics like Food Safety, First Aid and Fire Safety at home with additional topics of Accident Prevention and Safety Mind-set.
The training is provided in small groups and in English. Our trainer is a safety professional with years of experience in multicultural environment and over ten years in safety management. Her safety and trainer qualifications are from the UK.

Course syllabus
Food Safety: Understanding food hygiene and safety, cause of food poisoning and how to prevent it, contamination hazards and its control, how to avoid cross contamination, effective personal hygiene, cleaning and disinfection.
First Aid: Managing Incidents: Personal Safety and attending the casualty (Primary & Secondary Survey and Recovery Position);
Basic Life Support: CPR (Adult/Child/Infant);
Choking (Adult/Child/Infant/Wheelchair);
Shock: Sign & Symptoms and Treatment;
Wounds and Bleeding, Bites and Stings, Burns and Scalds; Extremity injuries: Fracture, Dislocation, Strains and Sprains;
Unconscious Casualty: Cause, Sign & Symptoms and Treatment, Asthma, Epilepsy, Anaphylactic Shock, Poisoning, Diabetes.
Fire Safety: Fire prevention and safe living, fire safety at home.
Manual Handling: Covering a variety of activities including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying and repetitive tasks. Learning the correct technique in order to minimize injury/sickness.
Safety Mindset & Accident Prevention: Understanding human behavior and how it contributes to accidents (lack of communication, complacency, distraction etc.), what near miss events are, and what can be learnt from these to prevent future accidents. This topic also includes Pet Safety and how to safely care for them.
Course Details
Delivery: The training course is delivered by using various methods. These include lectures and demonstrations, which will allow the learners to receive all necessary information. Group discussions, and the practical activities will assist the learners utilising their newly gained knowledge and skillset.
Assessment/Evaluation: Learners are required to participate in exercises and contribute to classes; course participation is taken into consideration in final mark. Classroom assessments will include practical and theoretical means. Each topic ends with an informal assessment of learners’ understanding of the topic, and during practical activities learners are also observed. At the end of the training session (Day 2) a formal assessment is conducted, which includes written examination and practical demonstration.

Language: Training delivery and training materials are in English.
Attendance: 100% course attendance is required from the learners; any attendance issues needs to be reported in advance. Failure to do this may result in learners not receiving course certification.
