Saturday Crop Swap Eastern BOP
Eastern Bay Crop Swap has been meeting for a while now on a Wednesday and we've decided to introduce a Saturday swap as well for all of you who work on Wednesdays.
There will be 2 Saturday Crop Swaps in March and if enough people want them to continue throughout the year on Saturdays, that can be arranged.
March is Sustainable BackYards (SBY) Month and SBY will be having a presence for the month at Wharaurangi, so we have decided to showcase Crop Swap in a visible public space so more people get to hear about it.
HOW DOES IT WORK? People who would like to participate in the Crop Swap arrive at the designated time and put their excess produce, seeds, plants, cuttings or preserves etc that they are offering to swap onto the swap table.
Then, at the starting time the coordinator of the Swap will welcome everyone and explain what it is all about and open the swapping.
At this time all participants are invited to approach the swap table and take something from the table as a 'swap' for what they've given.
It has proven to be a beautiful, abundant way of sharing our excess.
The guiding ethos of the Crop Swap is to 'Give Generously and Take Mindfully'
There is a wet weather backup space booked at Pou Whakaaro, 40 Te Tahi street (next to CReW)
