Explore a range of techniques in the versatile medium of screenprinting and learn how hand-drawn, digital and photographic source material can be developed and combined within multicoloured prints.
Students will create a series of prints using analogue and photographic techniques appropriate to their level of expertise. Techniques such as digital image preparation (half-tone dot), ink and brush mark-making and collage will be used to develop unique works and editions. Carolyn Mckenzie-Craig teaches you how mix and layer colours for your own projects and gives you opportunities to apply screenprinting techniques on various surfaces, including wood, perspex and fabric.
Carolyn Mckenzie-Craig is an interdisciplinary artist examining power through archival processes. She is currently a board member for Frontyard ARI, Marrickville, teaches printmaking at the National Art School and holds a doctoral degree in Fine Art from the Queensland College of Art. She has been selected as a finalist in many art prizes e.g. the Burnie, Freemantle, Silkcut, Clayton Utz, Churchie, Bangkok Drawing and Print Triennial and the Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing. She was recently awarded a Waverly Artist Studio for 2020.
