Despite Nissan having not manufactured a car in Australia for more than 30 years, Nissan Castings Dandenong have been able to successfully compete on the world stage exporting automotive castings throughout the globe. They are able to continue doing this by ongoing visionary product development planning and execution, excellent people engagement , strategic application of automation where appropriate and true manufacturing excellence.
This SIRF site tour gives an excellent opportunity to experience this manufacturing excellence firsthand.
Nissan Castings Dandenong produces more than 2.6 million metal castings per year with their main products being Aluminium alloy high pressure die casting, making in excess of 60 different parts for multiple vehicles and continuing to grow the range made. Each casting is proudly cast with a kangaroo indicating it is proudly made in Australia.
They also make very high-precision casting components for the Nissan Leaf electric car.
This site tour will include a presentation from some of the Nissan team on: a Nissan Company Overview, Improvement Initiatives and Future developments

SIRF Rt Site Tours are often organised around a topic or theme, and hosts do their best to show off what they have accomplished around the topic.
