StartSomeGood, the Crowdfunding Platform for Social Good, and Impact Seed, Perth's social business champions, presents this Social Good Crowdfunding workshop with StartSomeGood CEO Tom Dawkins.

Presented by social impact crowdfunding platform StartSomeGood.com and Perth's Impact Seed this is a practical, fast-moving and informative workshop is will teach you everything you need to know to be great at Crowdfunding. It is especifically designed for project creators who want to get their crowdfunding campaigns ready for launch but would also benefit anyone who just wanted to know how crowdfunding works.

This workshop is designed for social enterprises interested in using crowdfunding to launch new products nad services, but is relevant for anyone with a community benefit project you need to raise funds for.

This workshop has two parts, so be sure to book the ticket you want:

  • The first half is a workshop that covers all the core decisions, strategies and insights you need to create and run a great crowdfunding campaign. This is great information for anyone in the planning stage of a crowdfunding campaign or who just want to know how it works.

  • The second half carries on from the workshop (after a short break) with group coaching and strategic planning with Tom, including a deeper dive into developing your outreach plan. This is reserved for just 6 projects  or organisations to ensure that all get focused feedback and relevant advice. This is for those with a project they are committed to launching and who want to really hone in on their specific needs.

Crowdfunding is not only a great seed funding mechanism but a highly effective, leveraged and very cost-effective form of community validation of, and support for, a new idea.

Why come to this workshop?

Crowdfunding is a fantastic way to launch or grow a social enterprise or non-profit, raise funds for a cause or a creative project or fuel a grassroots movement for your community.

But the considerable majority of all crowdfunding campaigns fall short, often because of a handful of common mistakes. StartSomeGood has one of the best success rates in the industry, with 53% of projects reaching their goal (compared to 31% on Kickstarter and 13% on IndieGoGo, a typical range for most crowdfunding platforms).

This workshop is all about making sure you and your project have the best chance of success by sharing the insights we have gained working with over 1,000 projects at StartSomeGood and receiving personal attention and consultation with StartSomeGood CEO Tom Dawkins, who is recognised as one of the leading experts and teachers on crowdfunding and online community building in Australia.

(Note: you don't need to be planning to crowdfund with StartSomeGood, or at all, to participate, the lessons will be valuable regardless).

The workshop will cover common misteps, what those who are successfully raising funds are doing right and how to think through the goals and outreach strategy for your particular project.
