Plans are in progress for Spring Wood Day 2019, a day to celebrate Spring and Wood at Spring Wood, Ipswich.
Join us for wood crafts, children’s activities, music, song and dancing, storytelling, various walks, including poetry walk and much more!
Light refreshments available, but do please bring a picnic!

The second Spring Wood Day TellerThon!
We will attempt to beat last year's record of 4 hours 37 minutes of non-stop storytelling, at various locations on Spring Wood Day, with some of East Anglia's favourite storytellers!

Poetree Walks with Bards in the Woods
This proves to be a very popular Poetree Walk with our annual “Bard of Spring Wood” competition; we will award a prize for the most inspired original poem about Trees, Woods or Woodlands, recited or read on this Poetree Walk. So get out your quills, biros, smart phones, and parchment, or brown-paper bags and get writing!
We will meet at the campfire site at 1.15.

Guided walks
This event is organised and run by volunteers, and we need more! If you can spare any time on the day we would be grateful. We will need volunteers for setting up, taking down, helping with tea, coffee, washing up etc, a half hour – an hour, or whatever time you can do.
If you can lend a hand, please message us on Ipswich Wildlife Group and we will get back to you, or report to the welcome tent on arrival. Many thanks
PLEASE NOTE : There is limited parking only near the event, motorists going to Spring Wood Day are advised to park at Bourne Park car park, off Stoke Park Drive, Ipswich, where there will be a free minibus shuttle back and forth to the event.
A number 15 bus goes hourly, at fifteen minutes past the hour, from Tower Ramparts Ipswich, you should request to stop for Marbled White Drive, IP8
(The bus stop is Thorington Park, very close to the end of Marbled White Drive)
