Performance planning

Jointly set and agreed at the beginning of the performance period by both supervisor and staff.

1. Performance accountability established and agreed 
2. Performance target and rate agreed for the next season
3. Agreed on the approach i.e strategy and model for the job
4. Improvement strategies or best practices are jointly decided
5. Estimate the results or outputs and outcome based on simulations
6. Agreed to any changes to the job description
7. Any change on the company's budgets
8. Link staff performance to the corporate goals

Performance Appraisal

1. Measure gaps between targets and actuals.
2. Bench markings could be either internal or external
3. Explain both positive and negative performance gaps
4. Through root cause analysis, identify problems and issues
5. Identiy solutions through best practices and innovations
6. Recognition for positive performance
7. In competency gaps, changes could training or non-training solutions
8. Record performance trends 
9. Evaluate performance at various phases, inputs, process, output and outcome.
