Stories From The Future - Expression of Interest (EOI) + Events

Join us for STORIES FROM THE FUTURE:
Call for culturally diverse creatives, artists, arts workers, filmmakers, producers, performers, writers and more to join us for a workshop series to imagine a future where cultural diversity is present at every level in the arts!
The workshops invite culturally diverse creatives and arts workers to imagine a timeline towards an equitable culturally diverse arts future in Australia. The workshop moves from exercises on reflecting upon personal experiences of marginalisation in the arts to group exercises of collectively imagining milestones towards an equitable arts scene in 2050.
Workshops will be held in NSW, SA, ACT and WA with our key state partners - The Street, Community Arts Network, and Nexus Arts with support from Country Arts WA & Country Arts SA. Some places available to people in other States/Territories. Workshop outputs will be shared via symposia, films, podcasts and a report next year. Learn more below:

For ACT and NSW workshops, registrations have closed on August 31 for the 2019 workshops.
All previous earlier submissions from early intakes from culturally diverse creatives/arts workers are still standing priority submissions and have been contacted about workshop preferences.
Invitations to workshops will be sent at least a month beforehand to registered culturally diverse artists/arts workers.
- ACT Workshop – Co-hosted by The Street Theatre on 14 September 2019.
- WA Workshops – Co-hosted by Community Arts Network with Country Arts WA at the venue of The State Library of Western Australia on 24 & 25 October 2019.
- SA Workshops – Co-hosted by Nexus Arts with support from Country Arts SA on 21 & 22 November 2019.
Registrations for the NSW workshops have closed for January 2019 sessions at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and Parramatta Artists Studios.
Each workshop runs from 10am - 3pm with refreshments and breaks included.
