This season Sugar Republic has been transformed into a celebration of Christmas joy through 10 immersive festive spaces to delight Christmas enthusiasts of any age. Visit the Naughty or Nice hidden rooms - spin the wheel to find out which one is for you! Slide into a marshmallow pool. Catch the falling snow, and jump into the human snow globe. Take a trip to Candy Cane Lane, with candy cane walls and a giant peppermint ball pit. Be dazzled in Tinseltown. With a gingerbread cottage, life size toys, silly jokes, ugly sweaters, songs, scents and all the comforting feels of a holly jolly nostalgic Christmas, we’ll leave you feeling Christmas-ready and full of good cheer! Bring your camera as yule also have an opportunity to meet Santa himself and discover lots of whimsical photo backdrops including a giant Christmas card, a ski lift, a huge advent calendar, Snowville, a forest of pink trees and an elfie shelfie. Even the Grinchiest Christmas-phobes will like your photos! And of course there'll be some festive confectionery sampling for everyone. Christmasland is located in the old MacRobertson’s chocolate factory in Fitzroy, easy to reach by tram or car, and close to many amazing independent shops and cafés. There is a waiver at the checkout that each attendee needs to read and accept before you make payment. Once this is completed you'll receive an email from Eventbrite with your tickets. DO I NEED TO LIST EVERYONE IN MY GROUP WHEN I BOOK? Yes! We cannot allow entry to any guest who does not have a ticket in their name (including children) so please ensure that you name everyone in your booking. If you don't know exactly who's coming yet, or if you have a change of plans, you can change the name on any of your tickets through Eventbrite. This must be done before you arrive to avoid delays at check-in. CAN I BUY TICKETS IN PERSON? Occasionally yes, but we strongly recommend booking online to guarantee entry, as sessions are often booked out. Christmas is a busy time of year and we don’t want you to make a wasted journey across town if there are no tickets available! CAN I CANCEL OR CHANGE MY BOOKING? Bookings are strictly non-refundable for any reason. If you are unable to attend you may be able to transfer your ticket to another session for a limited time through Eventbrite (fees apply), or transfer it to another person. Tickets purchased with gift vouchers cannot be refunded or transferred. HOW DO I FIND CHRISTMASLAND? MacRobertson’s Factory 379 Smith Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne Take the 86 tram towards Bundoora from Bourke Street or Parliament in the CBD and alight on Smith Street at stop 20 (Rose Street). Head left and you'll find us! Limited car parking is available on Smith Street. WHAT ARE THE DATES AND OPENING HOURS? Please visit our website for the latest information on dates and open times. WHAT HAPPENS AT THE EVENT? Our guests explore 10 themed spaces at their own pace, playing in ball pits and jumping out of giant things, taking photos, tasting sweets and hanging out with friends and family surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY TICKET? 1 hour entry into Christmasland including all activities and selfie/photo opportunity with Santa 2-3 samples of confectionery Mrs Claus Milk Bar purchases are not included in the ticket price (except for VIP tickets) IS THERE A GIFT SHOP? Yes, you may finish off your visit at our Gift Shoppe filled with sweet Christmas gifts for your friends and family. WHAT AGE GROUP IS IT FOR? Sugar Republic is aimed at grown-ups (because why should kids have all the fun?) but there’s no age restriction as long as you love Christmas! Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Adults accompanying children will need their own ticket. Please note - this is not a play centre or theme park. All of our guests are expected to show consideration to others, to play gently and to respect the art installations. WILL SANTA BE THERE IN PERSON? Of course! Christmas is nothing without Santa, so he'll be at Christmasland every day. You might find him hanging in the gingerbread cottage, on his throne in Candy Cane Lane or even in the ball pit, who knows? Wherever he is, Santa will be happy to talk about your Christmas list and jump in a photo with you. HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM SUGAR REPUBLIC? Christmasland has 100% new exhibits for you to enjoy, but the focus is still on playful fun, photos and good times – with a festive twist! WHAT’S INCLUDED IN A VIP TICKET? This is a special treat pass that includes a VIP Christmas goody bag and a festive treat from Mrs. Claus Milk Bar. What’s in the goody bag? A stash of chocolate and candy to keep you going until Christmas plus some extra surprises. HOW LONG WILL MY VISIT TAKE? Your ticket is for one hour, which is about how long it takes to see all the awesomeness. Allow yourself some extra time to hang out at our Milk Bar and Shoppe. Please note that some activities e.g. ball pit, snow globe and marshmallow pool have a time limit. WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Bring your ticket (on your phone or a printout), your phone/camera and your sweet self. If you're planning to take lots of photos, consider bringing some festive props - Santa hat, tinsel, ugly sweater, you know what we're talking about... Some of the experiences require that you remove your shoes so please wear socks or tights, as you may not be allowed to participate with bare feet. Also, please do not bring food, large bags or bulky items as they are not allowed in the event. IS PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED? Are you serious? We encourage it. Please note that selfie sticks and tripods are not permitted. Commercial photo shoots are also strictly NOT allowed, unless by prior agreement. Please email hello@sugarrepublic.com.au to book a commercial shoot. ARE PETS ALLOWED? No. With the exception of Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs, pets are (sadly) not allowed. IS THE EVENT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE? The building and spaces are almost all wheelchair accessible, but please note that some activities and rooms may not be suitable for people with disabilities. Strollers are not permitted inside the exhibit and will need to be left in the foyer area at your own risk. IS THERE CONCESSIONARY AND COMPANION PRICING? We don’t have any concessionary pricing. Holders of a Companion Card may bring a companion in at no charge (the card holder must purchase a ticket). IS FOOD SERVED AT THE EVENT? Christmasland is not a food event however we’ll have some confectionery samples for guests to try. Please note that our storeroom handles wheat, eggs, milk, soy and tree nuts, and all of our food samples and treats may come into contact with these. If you have any food allergies or requirements please ask our staff for assistance. CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK? Food and drink are not allowed in. IS THERE A BATHROOM? There is no bathroom inside the building. There is a public toilet outside on the corner of Smith and Kerr Streets. CAN I HOLD A PRIVATE EVENT? Yes indeed!
