& Consumed

The beer lords at Young Henrys present an absolute sludge master fest as Oz riff giants Sumeru launch their new album 'Summon Destroyer' alongside fellow Sydney sledgehammer's Lo! & Brisbane grind merchants Descent.
Sumeru -
A band known for their passionately fierce and ear crushing live shows, Sumeru’s onstage energy is exerted with an almost fanatical dedication that it verges on a cult-like rite of sonic exorcism and visceral upheaval. Add in the long-crafted musicianship of each member of this Sydney 5 piece, their ability to peel subconscious layers off of their audiences was apparent since their inception in 2009.
Having shared the stage with foreign imports and domestic legends such YOB, Church of Misery, Torche, Nick Oliveri (back up band & support), Windhand, Nails, Blood Duster, Beastwars, IEXIST and Lo! Sumeru now stand firmly grounded in the Australian heavy music underground as a defining force of pure riff fury and indomitable low-end groove.
Sumeru’s second album, ‘Summon Destroyer’ is out now through Wormholedeath Medusa Crush Recordings & MALLEVS RECORDS
Lo! -
One of Australia’s favourite bands, this Sydney quartet's live performances are often compared to a volcano that has been dormant for many years before unexpectedly unleashing it’s wrath on everything in its vicinity. The energy and dynamism that Lo! Invest in their music is unmatched and this translates live into an absolutely brutal experience. Lo! Launched their latest record ‘Vestigial’ through Pelagic Records early this year followed by a month long European Tour. Since sharing the stage with the likes of Russian Circles, Eyehategod, Amenra, Palm and not to mention Cult of Luna and German powerhouse The Ocean, Lo! has come a long way carving their distinctive niche of noisy, sludgy hardcore.
Descent -
"If your mood is that of misanthropic destruction then fortune smiles on you as Descent want nothing more than to tear things down and grind you into a fine paste. Beyond that, there is little else to define as Towers of Grandiosity exists for the sole purpose of cathartic release. There are few tricks up its sleeve, just a constant battery of repulsion" - Angry Metal Guy
