Sunshine Week: Celebrating Openness and Transparency in Local, State, and Federal Government
March 12-17, 2018
The Media Mentoring Project and Vermont Independent Media invite you to learn how to "speak truth to power" with author and columnist, Elayne Clift, on Monday at the Rockingham Free Public Library; followed by two Freedom of Information Act 'can opener' workshops (one at the conference room of the Hooker_Dunham bldg, near our offices for the Commons, Wednesday at noon, and one at the Putney Public Library on Saturday, from 1 to 3).
Reporter Emerita at the Commons, Allison Teague, and NEFAC 2014 Fellow, will update you on local, state and federal guidelines on how to request a public document, will work with you to make the most out of the FOIA request, and go over Open Meeting law updates currently being considered in VT legislature.
Bring your FOIA requests and questions about open meeting law, and what it means to you.
