Super Songwriters Night Benefiting MCHRA Meals on Wheels

The second annual Super Songwriters Night, a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels, is set for Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the historic Franklin Theatre in downtown Franklin, Tennessee. Mid-Cumberland Meals on Wheels and The Ark Community Resource and Assistance Center are holding the event.

This event will feature several tremendous songwriters and a fantastic silent and live auction. Last year we were fortunate to have Paul Overstreet, Craig Wiseman, Allen Shamblin and Casey Beathard, four of the most prolific songwriters in all of Nashville, as our featured entertainment. We enjoyed hearing the songs sung by the songwriters themselves, and the stories surrounding songs such as “Forever and Ever Amen”, “The House That Built Me”, “Live Like You Were Dyin’”, and “Like Jesus Does”. We are in the process of securing our lineup for this year, and we promise it will be just as fantastic.

Meals on Wheels is an invaluable service that provides much needed meals to homebound senior citizens. These seniors may not eat if it wasn’t for this program. The cost to fund this valuable program in our area is approximately $28,000 per year, and the cost increases every year as the cost of food rises. Up until now, we have been able to provide the meals to any senior who qualifies, with no waiting list. We are striving to continue to provide food to any qualified senior, and to continue to do so without any interruption.
