This ones for our new Sweat-era, or those wanting to learn a fun, high energy pop routine that goes back to basics with all the fun and cute thrown in. Over 6 weeks we’ll go through basic pop dancing drills and technique and learn a routine. Suited to beginner and intermediate students.
Hey. So. Here’s a confession of a dance floor sweat-er. When I dance, I don’t flush. I don’t glow. I freaking SWEAT. I know I’ve done it wrong if I don’t leave a dance floor with my previously fancy hair scragged into a bun and my makeup sliding off my face.
Liz Cahalan sweats when she dances. Like a lot. She won’t hug you after class because it’s gross. She loves throwing herself in, going all out, feeling her heart race and living the moves: lip syncing interpretive dancing...the lot. Her Melbourne dance school gained a cult following (Bey Dance and Cult Dance) over the past 6 years for its welcoming, inclusive, uplifting and fun classes. And now she’s come home to Adelaide.
Liz has come from an extensive dance background in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and Indian classical and pop styles. But don’t let that put you off. Tired of hearing people say they couldn’t dance because they’re not a “real” dancer, she wanted to provide a space away from elite and professional dance classes for those who love to move but find most classes intimidating.
