Sydney Philharmonia Choirs - Centenary Commissions - Workshop and Drinks

As part of our 100th birthday celebrations in 2020, SPC is commissioning 100 minutes of new Australian music. This music will be performed during our 2020 Season.

Earlier this year, we called for scores to be submitted through The Australian Music Centre. This was the first step in identifying a wide range of potential composers for us to work with. We received scores from emerging and established Australian composers based around Australia and overseas, including some members of our Choirs. After 4 weeks of readings and assessment we are pleased to announce we have a short list of candidates.

We have 40 places available for choristers to contribute to the process and attend this final workshop at The Opera Centre where you will hear Chamber Singers perform music by each of the shortlisted composers. We will also ask you to vote on your favourites over a glass of Dindima Wine! Brett will tell you more about the “100 Minutes of Australian Music”, and its importance in the strategic direction of Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.

Tickets will be available from 9am Wednesday 22nd May, until the allocation is exhausted. Only one ticket will be available per chorister.
