Learn a Better Way to Support Students in Distress

Responding to a young person in distress can be a daunting experience. Worrying if you are doing or saying the right thing takes your focus away from attending to the young person, and can change the outcome of the situation. Designed for Educators this half-day training program guides participants through the latest tools and strategies designed to engage young people in distress, and how to engage young people and families/carers to develop individualised support plans.

Equi Energy Youth’s evidence-based training programs are underpinned by models developed as part of Dr Stephen Spencer’s PhD research, and his extensive clinical experience working in acute child and adolescent mental health. The programs focus on providing key information and practical strategies for working with young people to promote mental wellbeing and those who experience acute mental health issues, emotional dysregulation, and challenging behaviours.
