Tongue-Tie Information Session (Evening)

This information session is aimed at Adults with potential tongue-tie/lip-tie/buccal-tie and parents of children with potential tongue-tie/lip-tie/tongue-tie. We will provide you with knowledge about the impact of oral restrictions such as tongue ties in adults, teens and babies. You will leave with a deeper understanding of how oral restrictions can be identified, corrected and also the appropriate course of action at various life stages.

This session is highly recommended for adults with suspected ties (or already know they have ties) as well as parents with babies with ties or who are interested in finding our more about oral restrictions.

We will cover the following:

1. What is oral restriction & how does it affect you as an adult, your child or your baby

2. Where do I get my ties accessed?

3. Latest research & current approaches to Tongue, lip & Bucca ties

4. The impact of oral restrictions on eating, breastfeeding, speech, breathing and posture

5. Treatment for different age group and how overall function can be restored and enhanced through effective treatments and aftercare

6. Importance on working with a bodyworker & what is the role of a bodyworker is in a multidisciplinary team approach

Presenter

Karen Leo is a Manual Therapist with a passion for assisting people with the symptoms resulting from oral restrictons. This stems from Karen's own experience as an adult, discovering that she had a tongue-tie and then the profound positive impact having it release had on her health and well-being.

This passion has lead Karen to undergo futher training and certification in the assessment and treatment of tongue-tie through the Tongue-Tie Institute.
