Introducing Amy Jarich: Amy was formerly the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of Undergraduate Admission at UC Berkeley before leaving in July 2018 to pursue other opportunities.
She has served in admissions leadership for over a decade, moving to Berkeley from the University of Virginia in 2012. Admissions is Amy’s second career. She started her professional life in public service, working in Washington DC for government and non-profits.
Amy holds a graduate degree from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and an undergraduate degree from Sweet Briar College. She was a first-generation college student who discovered the wonders of global education while studying abroad as an undergraduate. Inspired by her own experience, Amy has worked to articulate the value of studying abroad and the positive impact of welcoming international students to college campuses in the US.
Amy’s leadership experience off campus includes the NACAC Board of Directors (2014-2017), the Overseas Schools Project in partnership with the US State Department and the College Board, and Khan Academy's Thought Leadership Council.
