Unwoman is song. Unwoman is a crime. Unwoman is a real and substantial risk.

Unwoman is an epic and imagistic piece of feminist theatre created in both Ireland and Australia, examining reproductive rights, experiences of pregnancy and bodily autonomy.

Made with THE RABBLE, professional performers and a community ensemble of pregnant performers, Unwoman is an invocation of the pregnant body as a plurality of experiences. It is visceral, carnal and an uncompromising piece of feminist theatre horrified by the history and laws attempting to curb bodily autonomy and reproductive rights.

Unwoman Part III was co-created with Maeve Stone in Dublin 2018.

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body. Unwoman Part III was created with Maeve Stone featuring Olwen Fouere and was developed at FRINGE LAB with commissioning support from Dublin Fringe Festival and producing support from Pan Pan Theatre.

Accessibility

The SUBSTATION is a fully accessible venue, there is a ramp to enter the building as well as an elevator inside. This event is a general admission seated event. Should you require special seating arrangement please contact us at info@thesubstation.org.au

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

In an effort to reduce waste, The SUBSTATION asks that patrons do not print their tickets at home. We ask that you have your ticket ready on a mobile device upon arrival or just bring some photo ID to verify your identity. 

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

To get to SUBSTATION, we encourage you to catch the Williamstown or Werribee train from Flinders Street Station to Newport Station. We are a short 4 minute walk from the station. There is also ample parking out the front of the venue. 

What's the refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable, tickets can be exchanged for different date (where available) and we also accept ticket name changes. 

 Am I eligible for concession prices?

Concession discounts apply to full-time students, seniors, pensioners, Healthcare Card holders and local residents (check here). If you are a local resident simply show proof of residence upon ticket collection. Children under 18 allowed to attend with a parent or guardian.
