UQ Guinness World Records Attempt - Largest Mindfulness Lesson (Single Venue)

Help the University of Queensland break a World Record!

The University of Queensland and the wider Brisbane community, will unite at UQ St Lucia Campus on Tuesday 23 July 2019, to take part in a Guinness World Records Attempt. The attempt will aim to break the record for the Largest Mindfulness Lesson of 569 participants and will be hosted in the beautiful Great Court by mindfulness guru Dr Russ Harris. During the official attempt, Russ will teach mindfulness techniques that are commonly used to help maintain mental health and manage issues such as depression, anxiety and stress. 

The event will be a fun day out for students, staff, alumni, family and friends. There will be freebies, giveaways, wellness stalls, free lunch and of course the chance to be a part of a world record! We also ask everyone to indulge in our colour theme for the day and to wear your brightest shirt, dress, hat or shoes, to help us shine a positive light on mental health.

If you are feeling daring, there will also be a colour run guard of honour (optional) for all participants to run through at the conclusion of the event to symbolise and celebrate the combined efforts of the community to help break the record. If you wish to take part in the colour run, the dye can be washed out of clothing, however we advise bringing a change of clothes if you need to go to work after the event.

Please come with an open mind and a smile and be prepared to be mindful whether rain or shine!

Official Attempt begins: 11.30am
Official Attempt ends: 12.00pm
Lunch: 12.15pm onwards
