WASP (Womens Assault Survival Programme) - Ladies Self Defence

WASP (Womens Assault Survival Programme) - Ladies Self Defence
Event ended

Violence against women is widely recognised as a global problem and one of the most widespread violations of human rights.

Even conservative estimates suggest a figure of one in five women in Australia suffering some form of physical or sexual violence during their lifetimes with devastating affects on their health and wellbeing, as well on their families and communities.

We at WASP specialise in empowering women with the verbal, emotional, psychological and physical skills to avoid, detect, diffuse and when required defend themselves from an attack.

Our course is very different and provides vital training which traditional martial arts and self defence courses lack

The Facts
Almost 500,000 Australian women have experienced violence, threats or harassment in the past 12 months. (Source; Women's Safety Report, Australian Bureau of Statistics)

A hostile attack can happen to anyone; Children, Teenagers, Mothers, Single Women, Elderly and even males are victims of sexual assault.

Rapists are not necessarily strangers. In fact sexual assault is most often perpetrated by an acquaintance, friend, neighbour or relative of the victim.

Rape is a crime of violence

75% of sexual abuse (non rape) occurs to under 18's. (Source: Victorian Police Crime Statistics 2008/2009)

Effective Self Defence

Our Women’s Self Defence Programme is designed to give you powerful physical and psychological skills to respond effectively in the event of personal attack.

You will learn personal protection, safety awareness, home security and proven effective self defence techniques.

It’s not Martial Arts, this is pure personal safety training.
