Why corporate culture matters when choosing global stocks

The royal commission has highlighted the negative impact the wrong corporate culture can have on a company. But what exactly is culture? Why is it so important and how can it impact stock returns?

WCM's investment process is based on the belief that corporate culture is the biggest influence on a company's ability to grow its competitive advantage or moat. This process has led to their flagship Quality Global Growth portfolio outperforming the MSCI World Index by an annualised 5% per annum over the past decade, and growth in firm assets from $200 million to in excess of $35 billion.

We’re excited to host WCM on their upcoming visit to Australia, and are pleased to invite you and your colleagues to an intimate presentation with the investment team ahead of the launch of our new exchange-traded managed fund, WCM Quality Global Growth.

The agenda is as follows:

  • 12pm arrival
  • 12.30pm Presentation

Note: this page is for the lunch session on Monday, May 28 2018 in Sydney. To RSVP for the Wednesday, May 30 2018 lunch session click here.

Why Attend?

During this session Kurt Winrich, Portfolio Manager and Co-CEO of WCM Investment Management, will tell you:

  • How WCM's focus on their own culture helped turn a $200 million business into $35 billion in just 10 years.
  • Their unique approach to analysing culture, and the reasons why the 'right culture' for one industry isn't the right one for another.
  • How corporate culture can impact the direction of a firm's economic moat (competitive advantage).
  • How this unique approach helps minimise losses in declining markets.
  • Their view on the FAANG stocks and where they are currently finding the best opportunities in global markets.
