Weekend Walks for Women #23 2018: Morialta Second Falls Plateau Moderate Hike
THIS IS A MODERATE HIKE.
Please arrive 8.15am for 8.30am start. Toilets are located just beyond the carpark. No need to drive into the park as there is plenty of parking along Stradbroke Rd.
As it is going to be a potentially wet/sunny day, the following items will be needed:
- a daypack (35 litre) backpack
- 1-2 litres of water
- sun protection (hat, sunnies, suncream) or wet weather gear (we will check the forecast and remind you all what to expect!)
- blister kit/personal meds
- high energy snack/fruit
- boots/comfortable walking shoes
- warm clothing for after the walk (jumper/jacket)
- walking poles (optional)
Our walks are all about fun, fitness and friendship - not a personal training session. If we can't walk and talk at the same time we are walking too fast!
We encourage you all to walk with different people throughout the walk and with varying paces in any group, we re-group regularly so no-one is left behind.
Please note this walk will take up to 2 hours in Morialta Conservation Park as part of the Second Falls Plateau Hike distance is approx 7km and has some short steep uphill/downhill sections.
We include coffee/refreshments at the conclusion of our walk at a local cafe.
We meet just inside the carpark on Stradbroke Rd, the entry to this carpark is about 80m south of Bus Stop 27.
Look for the Big Heart Adventures car/flag when you park.
If the weather forecast is for extreme weather or a fire ban is issue for the Adelaide Hills, this walk will be cancelled the day before.
Please ensure you have the minimum gear required as no refunds are possible after booking - by booking you acknowledge you have wet weather gear (rainjacket and pants) and suitable walking shoes (boots/runners).
Your Leader for this walk are Beatrice Jeavons and Assistant Leader Desi Mandalios. Our leaders carry group first aid kits, emergency communication devices and are qualified bushwalking leaders.
Our walking program for 2018 is supporting MOSH in South Australia who minimise suicidal harm by offering support services to families and anyone affected by suicide. Thankyou for donating an extra amount to their cause when you book or bringing a gold coin donation on the day.
