Shout your writing out to the world on a soapbox of your own creativity! Watch & learn from live performances by Gabrielle. It’ll be a fun afternoon exploring new skills for you to perform spoken word and develop your own style.
• Resist self-censorship; manage your stage fright; and find courage to share and connect with your audience.
• Stage craft & microphone techniques.
• Enhance your spoken word: alliteration, simile, metaphor, imagery, personification, repetition, onomatopoeia, internal rhyme.
If you can, bring an original poem/prose to perform (1 page)
Gabrielle Journey Jones has shared her life as a poet and percussionist for over 20 years performing on the local, national and international stage. Maori & African American, Gabrielle now lives locally with her family on Yuin Country.
