Writer's Notebook...in Action
facilitated by Lucia Hooper
You are invited to be part of the Writing Workshop in Lucia Hooper’s year 6/7 class at Flinders Park Primary School.
Have you participated in the Introduction to Writer’s Notebooks Mini Course?
Are you looking for some ‘where to next?’ inspiration and the opportunity to learn with and from like-minded colleagues?
Do you feel it will help develop your pedagogy to see, hear and feel a Writing Workshop in action?
Flinders Park Primary has a whole school commitment to Writing Workshop and Lucia is one of the key teachers who has collaborated with and has been coached by Lisa Burman over the past 2 years. The young writers she guides have developed strong writing habits and ways of thinking & talking about themselves as writers over this time.
This is an opportunity to experience a successful Writing Workshop – not the only way to use a Writer’s Notebook, but one teacher’s interpretation and ‘take’ on this rich pedagogy. Lucia will share the ups and downs of her Workshop, what she has learnt since embracing this approach and what she has noticed about the young writers she teaches since introducing Writer’s Notebooks and Writing Workshop. You’ll have the opportunity to ask many questions and share your experiences in a small group of ten like-minded educators.
It is a pre-requisite to have participated in the Introduction to Writer’s Notebook Mini Course (facilitated by either Lisa Burman or Amanda Bartram).
This day will be most suited to teachers working with young writers aged 10+ years.
